Kevin "Schmidty" B. Schmidt

Kevin B. Schmidt (Schmidty) Age 51, of Glidden, passed away on Saturday August 29, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 9, 1969 in Milwaukee, the son of Norbert and Diane (Eder) Schmidt. Kevin was a member of the Glidden High School graduating class of 1987. One of his highlights during high school was when the 1985 high school basketball team, which he was a key member, qualified for the Wisconsin State Basketball Tournament. After high school Kevin worked in the woods as a skidder operator and log truck driver. This led him to his passion for driving semi trucks. As a truck driver and then later as an owner/operator, his truck driving career led him from coast to coast. Kevin has been to all fifty States either while he was driving trucks or vacationing. But he especially loved Wyoming where he drove trucks transporting equipment for oil companies. Wyoming became his second home where the past 15 plus years he spent a lot of his time. He enjoyed sports, his love for the Green Bay Packers, snowmobiling, hunting, four wheeling, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. His presence, sense of humor, smile, stories, adventurous nature, experience and knowledge will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Those who knew him, will never forget him. And those who have forgotten him, never really knew him. He is survived by: his mother Diane of Glidden his sister Rebecca Schmidt of Hayward his nephews and niece: Bryce (Desirae) Wiemeri of Iron River Braydon (Sarah) Wiemeri of Washburn Breanna (Tim Peck) Huhn of Highbridge his grand nieces and nephews: Ashli, Landon, Wynstyn, and Wyllyam and many aunts and uncles, including is special uncle Mark Eder of Glidden he is further survived by many cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Norbert Schmidt, his maternal grandparents Pete and Katherine Eder, and his paternal grandparents: Bert and Gisela Schmidt. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the hour of the Mass. A Funeral Mass will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden on Saturday September 5, 2020 at 11:00am. Fr. Aloysius Anthony will officiate.
