Florence "Mickey" M. Bruehling

Florence (Mickey) M. Bruehling was born April 29, 1933 to Otto and Ida Reich in Holloway, Minnesota. She spent her teen years helping relatives with child care before leaving home to attend beauty school in Minneapolis. It was at the beauty school that she was nicknamed “Mickey” because there was another Florence. While attending school, she became friends with Shirley (Bruehling) Daubt who introduced Mickey to Tom so they could double date. Florence and Tom were married in South Dakota on December 21, 1953. Florence worked at various places such as Amron Corp. Waukesha, Park Manor nursing home in Park Falls. Tom and Mickey ran the Boll Weevil bar for several years in Park Falls. Florence enjoyed gardening, birding, rock collecting, foraging for berries and talking on the phone with all her family members and friends. She especially liked her flowers. She loved birds and hummingbirds. She collected rocks wherever she travelled and put most of them at our cabin in Jump River. While she loved hearing from family, we all know she wasn't very good at picking up the phone to call anyone. We can all hold these memories dear in remembering her time with us. Most of all she loved helping out anyone and being “Granny” to all. To the marriage of Florence and Tom were: Shelley Bruehling of Milwaukee, Wi. her children Rachel and Janelle (David), Pam (Rick) Hall of Oxford, Wi. children Amanda (Josh) Gower, Ricky Hall, Step children Lauren, Megan, Clay Steve (Pam) Bruehling of Park Falls, Wi. children Jamie Pannunzio, Zacchary Bruehling, Rocky Bruehling and River Bruehling, step children John, Laura, Violet, Ernie Scott (Char) Bruehling Benjamin Bruehling step children Desiree, Charlie. Florence's surviving siblings are Dorothy Hoffman, Charles (Marlene) Reich and Lila (David) Brown. She is further survived by great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly. Preceding her in death: parents Otto and Ida Reich, in-laws Fred and Frances Bruehling, husband Thomas Bruehling, brothers Clarence, Harold and Edwin, sister Verena and Louise, sisters -in-law Shirley Daubt and Pat Steinke and brother-in-law Peter Bruehling.
