David John Huettl

(Veteran) David John Huettl age 64, of Butternut, formerly of Park Falls. Though he was strong and loving, David ended his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday March 7, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1950 in Milwaukee, the son of Tom and Eleanor (Carriveau) Huettl. In 1968 Dave graduated from Hamilton High School in Sussex. After graduation he entered the United States Navy and served two tours in Vietnam in the “Brown Water Navy” during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, David always showed a strong love of family and a great appreciation for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He made sure to pass his values to his children. He touched many lives with his caring and insight, especially through his business, Dave's Fletching and Archery in Park Falls. His greatest reward was leaving you with a laugh or a smile. David was a member of the Butternut American Legion Post and was always grateful for the caring of his fellow veterans. He is survived by: (4)children: Peter (Joan) Huettl of Lugerville Heidi (Brian Zubke) Mullen-Huettl of Butternut SSG Matthew (Lindsay) Huettl of Forth Atkinson Sara Moungey of Horicon (6)grandsons: Austen Kluz, Arron Kluz, Brandon Huettl, Isaiah Moungey, Levi Huettl, Grayson Huettl step-grandson Nathan Fanelli (2)sisters: Susan (Rich) Spoley of Lampe, MO Marie (Frank) Vesel of Cudahy (2)brothers: Mike (Denise) Huettl of Willard, MO Paul (Nupie) Huettl of West Bend sister-in-law: Jo Eubanks-Huettl of Kinston, NC brother-in-law: Eddie (Sherry) Rusteika of Menomonee Falls and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother Allen. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls on Saturday March 28, 2015 from 10:00am until 1:00pm with military honors to follow under the auspices of the Butternut American Legion Post. At Dave's request, please dress casually and comfortably as he would have. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's name are suggested to the Military Service Memorial Flag Fund at Dick & Joan's Resort in Butternut.
