Shirley Ann Diem

July 8, 1940 - June 30, 2016

Shirley Ann (Schloer) Diem age 75, of Park Falls, entered her heavenly home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday June 30, 2016 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. She was born on July 8, 1940 in Butternut, the daughter of John and Helena (Fredrick) Schloer. Her early life and schooling were in Butternut. After her schooling she spent the rest of her life in Park Falls, where she owned and operated the Park Falls Motel and co-owned and operated Diem Logging & Trucking. She was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid and was very active in her church. She loved gardening, playing guitar & singing, crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, and was very sharp at playing Canasta, but she loved most of all to spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by: (3)children: James George Sr. (Rexy) Diem of Park Falls Linda Ann (Allen) Bramstadt of North Fond du Lac Cherie Marie Diem-Kobussen of Park Falls (7)grandchildren: Jason Allen (Erin) Bramstadt Kristie Marie Kobussen Alexandra Helena Bramstadt James George Diem Jr. Justin Zoilo Diem Jeramy John Diem Katie Lynn Kobussen (2)great-grandchildren Otto Fredrik Bramstadt Wilhelmina Aloise Bramstadt her former husband George Fredrick Diem Jr. of Park Falls her brother James (Beverly) Schloer of Butternut her sister Suzan (Dennis) Maas of Watertown and many special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mary Ellen, her sister Nancy Keily, (3)brothers: Thomas Schloer, Michael Schloer, and John Schloer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 2, 2016 at 11:00am from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Butternut. Rev. John A. Deitz and Rev. Dale Heinlein will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00am until the hour of the service. Our mom lived a life full of love, patience, gentleness, & kindness. She was a true example of God's enduring grace & mercy. We will forever be thankful for her and cherish our wonderful memories.
