Ruth O. Boushon

March 26, 1930 - April 26, 2018

Ruth O. Boushon, age 88, longtime resident of Park Falls, passed way peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at The Waterford Assisted Living Facility in Park Falls, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. She was born on March 26, 1930, Park Falls, WI, daughter of Ivan and Lucille (Wheeler) Slack. She spent her entire life in Park Falls. She was valedictorian of her 8th grade graduating class from Lymantown Grade School. Following graduation from Lincoln High School, she worked as a switchboard operator until marrying Clifford E. Boushon on June 4, 1949. She then took on the role of wife and mother. Clifford passed away on March 9, 1983, after which time, Ruth worked as a teacher’s aide, laundry worker, and Forest Service aide. In addition to her family, Ruth loved reading and horses, with many fond memories of her own horse, Nancy. She loved books, TV shows and movies about horses.   Ruth is survived by: (5) children: Michael (Gail) Boushon of Park Falls, Sheila (Ora) Statler of Salt Lake UT, Patrick (Mary) Boushon of Green Bay, Dennis (Becky) Boushon of Park Falls, and Bruce (Tina) Boushon of Payson AZ; (8) grandchildren:  Brooke (Jason) Anderson, Carol (DJ) Slater, Stacy Labbe, Christine (Tim) Nielson, John Boushon, Allison (Tim) Martin, Ashley Boushon (Zach Vande Slunt), Alena Boushon (Tristen Holman), six great-grandchildren:  Nolan and Austin Anderson, Rose and Lillian Slater, Julia Nielson,  Darian Statler,  and two step-great-granddaughters, Carla and Elizabeth Lee. She is further survived by her brother John (Rosie) Slack of Park Falls, her nieces, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter Paula Boushon in 1968, grandson David Statler in 2009, and great-grandson Joseph Labbe in 2005.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls, Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara officiating. Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
