Merton C. Hanish Age 90, of Park Falls, died on Monday January 14, 2019 at Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls. He was born on November 4, 1928 in Phillips, the son of John and Anna (Wagner) Hanish. Merton was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. On August 1, 1953 he married Dorothy Steben in Butternut. Merton worked for LeClair Mink Ranch in Phillips, was a truck driver for the Flambeau Feed Mill also in Phillips, and then was one of the original four over-the-road truck drivers for the Flambeau Paper Mill in Park Falls before becoming a forklift operator at the Mill. He was a lifetime member of both the Park Falls VFW and Fifield American Legion Posts. He is survived by: His wife Dorothy of Park Falls son Randall of Park Falls granddaughter Cammi Hanish of Wausau grandson Luke (Vicki) Hanish of Green Bay great-grandson Lincoln his brother Lorry (Dorothy) Hanish of Phillips and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ed Hanish, Grace Streeter, Beaty Dahne, Ruby Dachs and infant sister Evelyn. A private family service will be held.
