Mary Jean Druschke

Jean Druschke Age 87 of Glidden, died on December 15, 2016 at the Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. She was born on May 19, 1929 in Glidden, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Wolf) Eineichner. She graduated as valedictorian of the GHS Class of 1947. On August 21, 1949 she married Richard “Dick” Druschke in Milwaukee. Later that year, the couple purchased the Rexall Store in Glidden and became owners and operators of Druschke’s Store until 1989. Jean enjoyed traveling, playing solitaire and pinochle, reading and watching movies. She also enjoyed attending musical productions and plays, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends in the community of Glidden. One of her greatest joys/indulgences was eating hot fudge sundaes. Jean was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden. Jean is survived by (5) children: Richard “Scoop” (Susan) Druschke of Valders, WI, Tom Druschke (friend Jeanne) of Eagle River, WI, Mike (Julie) Druschke of Torrance, CA, Suzie (special friend Kurt Bennet) Druschke of Lakewood, CO, and Joe Druschke of Milwaukee, WI; (5) grandchildren: Jill (Jason) James of Los Angeles, CA, Matthew Druschke of Chicago, IL, Kristen (Chuck) Franklin of Severn, MD, Gail Druschke of Parker, CO, and Tim Druschke of Los Angeles, CA; (3) great-grandchildren: Charles “CJ” Franklin, Kristopher Franklin, and Jake James. She is also survived by (1) brother, Bill (Darlene) Eineichner, and (2) sisters, Ruth “Boots” (Bill) Armstrong and Kathy Drabant, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick (in 2002), and (1) brother, Jack. Special thanks are extended to the doctors and staff at the Ashland Memorial Medical Center, to those who drove Jean to her appointments, and to those who assisted in yard work, snow plowing and other home maintenance chores. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 8th 2017 at 11:00 am at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden. Fr. Dean Buttrick will officiate Visitation will be held on Saturday April 8th at 10:00 am until the hour of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery in Glidden. The Novitzke Funeral Home is assisting the Family
