Marlys Nelson Baars Born August 5th 1931, in Farmington, Wis. To Otto and Lottie Baars. His sister, Mildred preceded him in death. Marlys engaged in farming and met and married Marion Schlewe. They had four children, Kenneth (Pearl) Lester, Lyle, (Mary, deceased) and Daniel, (Debbie), Lester also preceded Marlys in death. They later divorced and Marlys met and married Sandra Fredrick, Greppi. She has a daughter, Lola Baars, also Carol Baars-Voda, whom they adopted as their own. Through the years they had a custom butchering business for six years, which was operated in Southern, WI. The couple owned and operated the White Top restaurant in Hustisford, WI for six years. They sold the restaurant and moved to rural Fifield. The couple then started the Baars mobile home park in the early 1980's and bought the former Flannagans supper club (Family Inn) on the north end of Park Falls, which they owned and operated for eight years until it was destroyed by fire in the early 90's. Left without a business, they purchased more land and increased the size of their mobile home court to fourteen and all are located in Fifield. Marlys is survived by his wife, five children, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday January 15, 2016 at 11:00am from the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls. Rev. John A. Deitz will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
