September 14, 1946 - November 1, 2017

Judy M. Szymik age 71, of Butternut, died on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 14, 1946 in Park Falls, the daughter of Alfred and Shirley (Mason) Gelina. Her early life and schooling were in Park Falls, where she graduated from Lincoln High School. On May 29, 1965 she married Jerome “Jerry” Szymik in Minnetonka, MN. Judy was a homemaker and a member of the Butternut Homemakers Club. She liked camping and spending time in south Texas in the warm weather, but most especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Jerome “Jerry” Szymik of Butternut her son Greg A. Szymik of Butternut her daughter Lisa Szymik of Minocqua (9)brothers and sisters: Patty (Bob) Hilgart of Park Falls Ginny (Dave) Bablick of Tomahawk Barbara (Bob) Gustafson of Park Falls Nancy (Dan) Kotke of Park Falls Alison (Mike) Bablick of Park Falls Bob (Sharlene) Gelina of Park Falls Jim Gelina of Park Falls Renee' Gelina of Rice Lake Sharon Bender of Watertown her special sister-in-law Pat (George) Radlinger of Butternut her good friend Terry Halverson of Butternut and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Roger Szymik. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 10:00am from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara, Deacon Bob Schienebeck, Deacon David Bablick, and Deacon Chet Ball will co-officiate. Burial will follow at St. Cecelia Catholic Cemetery in Butternut. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00am until the hour of the service.
