Jeanette "Jean" Mae Reas

April 29, 1943 - June 1, 2019

Jeanette (Jean) Mae Reas, age 76, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI, with her family by her side. Jean was born April 29, 1943, in Park Falls, WI, the daughter of Tony and Anna Miller. She graduated from Mercy High School in Milwaukee where she later worked as a telephone operator for several years. On June 19, 1965, Jean married Doug Reas at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. In 1974, they moved to Prentice, WI, where Jean worked part time as manager of Pine Village, a senior apartment home. Jean was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and loved decorating her home for the seasons. She was a wonderful cook, housekeeper, and devoted and caring wife. Survivors include her three children, Lynn (Alyssa) Reas of Sun Prairie, WI, Lonn Reas of Seymour, TN and Lisa (Dave) Knapp of Green Lake, WI; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Reas both of Sun Prairie, WI and James and Joshua Knapp both of Green Lake, WI; one sister, Mary Jane Peterson of Mora, MN, one brother, Tony (Janet) Miller, Butternut, WI, and her 3 beloved nieces, Jane (Duane) DeVore, Seymour, IA, Linda Lucas, Seymour, IA, and Judy (Dave) Henson, Eugene, MO. Sisters-in-law Nancy Miller, Park Falls, Violet Dillon of Park Falls, Tina Gruber of Park Falls, Carol (Ronnie) Herbst of Park Falls, Kathy (Bernie) Kotke of Park Falls, Ramona (Charlie) Wasrud of Iola, WI, Dawn (Rick) Buboltz of De Pere, WI and Christine (Mark) Moravec of Merrill, WI; brothers-in-law, Roger (Sharon) Reas of Butternut, WI, Perry (Betty) Reas, Larry (Judy) Reas, John Reas, and Lawrence Hilgart, all of Park Falls, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Doug Reas, in 2014 as well as her parents, sisters, Ann (Bill) Volzka, Florence (Paul) Bucheger, Stella (Bernie) Bucheger, and brother, Edward Miller. Visitation for Jean will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, 10 – 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 276 So. 5th Ave., Park Falls, WI 54552. Mass of Christian Burial for Jean will be held 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Park Falls, WI. Deacon Chet Ball will officiate. Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, WI. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, P.O. Box 215, Green Lake, WI 54941.
