Carl P. Mattke age 75, of Park Falls, died on Thursday June 29, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1941 in Park Falls, the son of Carl and Madeline (Trudeau) Mattke. His early life and schooling were in Park Falls. After graduating Carl entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his nation. On August 27, 1966 he married Bonnie Herbst who preceded him in death in 2005. Carl worked many years for Sam Neeck & Sons, then worked as a Morning Glory Distributor for 10 years before becoming a self-employed contractor. On May 27, 2012 Carl married Kim Myers. Carl was a member of the Park Falls American Legion Post and enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Kim of Park Falls (4)children: Paul Mattke of Bismark, North Dakota Scott (Keri Dempster) Mattke of Rancho cucamonga, CA Don (Kelly Kleinschmidt) Mattke of Park Falls Lee (Larry) Tesmer of Fifield (3)step-children: Kayla Myers of Park Falls Allison Myers of Holiday, FL Joseph Myers of Park Falls (8)grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bonnie, his infant daughter Mary, his sister Ruth Mattke and step-brother Troy Mattke. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 7th at 1:00pm from the Park Falls American Legion Hall. Deacon Chet Ball will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 7th from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Legion Hall. Burial will take place at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls with military honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion and VFW Posts. A lunch will follow back at the Legion after graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 182, Park Falls.
