Arthur Raymond Schmidt

Park Falls (veteran) Arthur Raymond Schmidt age 82, of Park Falls, died on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 12, 1932 in Park Falls, the son of Arthur and Katherine (Ernst) Schmidt. Arthur was a graduate of the Park Falls High School. After his schooling he served his country in the United States Navy. On June 19, 1954 he married Margy Carlson. Arthur worked for the Flambeau Paper Mill for many years and then was a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Park Falls American Legion post for 54 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Margy of Park Falls (5)children: Tom (Mary Dezotell) Schmidt of Park Falls Michael Schmidt of Park Falls Patrick Schmidt of Valders Christopher (Kathy) Schmidt of Simpsonville, SC Lori (Brian Miles) Pritzl of Park Falls (7)grandchildren: April (Brett) Walsh, Anna (Dave) Fischer, Katie (Ryan Meier) Schmidt, Cody Schmidt, Kayli Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt, and Taylor Pritzl (2)great-grandchildren: Kylee and Shaelynn Walsh (1)brother: Jim (Pat) Schmidt of Mesquite, NV (1)sister-in-law: JoAnn Carlson of Park Falls (2)nieces: Kelly and Cindy (1)nephew: Greg and many cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 11:00am from St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. Ron Levra will officiate. Interment will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls with military honors under the auspices of the Park Falls American Legion and VFW Posts. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 10:00am until the hour of the service at the church. The Novitzke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
