Wayne A. Marose

Wayne Marose of “Marosestead”, Wisconsin, age 67 passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on August 23, 2023. Wayne was born in Fond du Lac on September 11, 1955, to Carl and Jean (Thill) Marose. He spent his first seven years of life in Mayville and the family then moved to Fond du Lac. At age 10, the Maroses moved to Stockbridge where his parents owned and operated Carl and Jean’s bar. Wayne, Janice and their son Michael called Chilton their home for 30 years residing on the Manitowoc River. After graduating from Stockbridge High School in 1974, Wayne was employed at Keller Structures in Kaukauna. This is where he utilized and honed his God-given carpentry skills. He then moved on to Tecumseh Products in New Holstein as a machinist. Due to an unstable economy, he went onto Horst Distributing in Chilton for a more steady, guaranteed employment to provide for his family. While at Horst, he put his mechanical aptitude to work as a Service Technician repairing and setting up industrial lawn equipment. After many years of hunting and vacationing in Northern Wisconsin, in 2008, Wayne decided to make his dream come true and relocated to their second home in the Mercer/Springstead area in Iron County. Wayne became known as the “go to guy” and was a “Jack of Many Trades”. If he didn’t have what one needed to fix their issue, he could MacGyver something together. Wayne was truly a giving man ready to help anyone he could. While occupying his off time with many activities, “Doc’s” main loves were being a proud, longtime member of the Mercer Loons Motorcycle Club and the Mercer Area Sno-Goers Snowmobile club. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janice (Hemauer) Marose, their son Michael (Sheena Winters) Marose of Sherwood his six siblings, Ron (Nancy) Marose, Jerry “Skins”Marose, Dennis “Grubby”(Gail Sprangers) Marose, Nancy Woelfel (Sue Buechel), Rick (Kathy) Marose, and Judy (Roger) Hidde. His brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Linn) Hemauer, Tony (Lourdes) Hemauer, Gene “Kutz”(Kay) Hemauer, Jill (Jim) Nelson, and Amy (Bob) Holzer along with numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Jean Marose, father and mother-in-law Art and Rose (Zahringer) Hemauer, Sister-in-law Ginny Marose and his nephew, Stevie Woelfel. A celebration of his life will be held at the Lazy Ace Saloon in Manitowish, Wisconsin the afternoon of September 10, 2023 beginning at 1PM. It will be an informal, open house style event held in the concert tent. In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be made to his family.
