Larry R. Evans

Larry Evans age 72, went home to meet his Father on 11/29/2017 with his daughter and wife by his side. Loving husband and father, and a proud veteran of the US Army. Larry was a “simple man”, as by Webster’s first 3 definitions include; free from vanity, free from display, and of humble origin or modest position. Life was not always easy, and he made some mistakes, maybe had a few regrets, but his faith in Christ and love for his children was demonstrated in his relentless effort to shelter his children from the difficult life they endured. He sacrificed to provide a life for them better than his own, and was always the ROCK they could rely upon for wisdom and guidance. He never stopped his examination of the Word of God, and would be happy to talk politics if you felt the need for a bit of argument, but, at the end of the day, the man was filled with Love and this planet will miss him. Larry is survived by his wife, Jeannette, he described her as his “hero.” His family will all agree she is deserving of that title! Best friend and heart-of-gold to him and all she meets. He is also survived by his previous wives, mother of his children Nancy Oden of Poplar Grove, IL, and Lupe Evans of Lyons, IL who helped him raise his precious children. Things may not have worked out, but they were loved by Larry and have a special place with his loved-ones. Also survived by his precious children, Tom (Kim) Evans of Wasola, MO, Troy “T`Roy”(Michelle) Evans of Canton, GA, Kimberly “Sugar Bump” Galaviz (Mike Morrison) of Rockton, IL, and Nate “Na-nu” (Julia) Evans of Loves Park, IL. His Park Falls family, step-daugher Alicia Duffrin and her husband Leon are so special to him. She is another daughter to him and Leon is simply one of the best men on the planet, salt of the earth. Larry loved them both as family and Jeanette is blessed to have them so close as she moves forward. Special memories to his favorite fishing buddy, Chase, who showed grandpa how to catch some fish just a couple months ago, and Annalise, his “little bug” who will miss her papa terribly. She has her very own angel now. Michael, papa’s “little man” who brought him many laughs and joy to his heart with stories of his boy antics. His precious grandchildren include, Zach Evans, Mitchell Evans, Mason Evans, Austin Evans, & Asher Evans. We mourn the passing of our father, husband, grand-father and friend. We celebrate the life of a good man who gave all he had and taught his children to be “Evans tough!” We encourage you to be thankful for today and to make the most of it! A heart-felt thank-you to ALL of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. We can’t name all of you, but you know who you are. Another huge thank-you to all the nurses and aides that provided care to him at Flambeau Hospital during his last days. We appreciate you and will never forget your kindness. A private celebration of Larry's life will take place at a later date.
