Frank R. Motola

Frank R. Motola age 81, of Glidden, died peacefully at his home on Monday September 26, 2022. He was born June 30, 1941 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Frank and Virginia (Ewert) Motola. His early life and schooling were in Chicago. Frank served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. When he returned home, he married Arlene Lobash in 1966. They were married for 28 years and together raised three children. Frank was a skilled carpenter who owned and operated Motola Construction for many years. He was a member of Chicago Carpenters Local 242. After his retirement and the death of Arlene in 1994 he moved to Glidden, WI where he loved to hunt, fish, and vacation. In 2000 he married Susan Repinski. They enjoyed 22 years of marriage. Frank was a devoted man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He served as Commander of the Glidden VFW Post for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors and golfing. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Sue of Glidden, (3)children; Frank (Lena) Motola of Lemont, IL, Robin (Tom) Markley of Lemont, IL, and Mike (Katie) Motola of Willow Springs, IL, (3)stepsons; Chris (Josie) Johnson of Johnson Creek, WI, Eric (Marie) Johnson of Fond du Lac, WI, and Mitchell Johnson of Palmer, AK, (10)grandchildren; Mark, Anna, Liz, Lauren, Jacob, Stephanie, Nicole, Courtney, Brenna, and Madeline, (10)step-grandchildren; Becca, CJ, Gregory, Jase, Seth, Cole, Alia, Madison, Hudson, and Vayda. He is further survived by (4)sisters; Mary (Al) Ervin, Theresa (the late Frank) Smith, Angie (John) Worthylake, Patty (John) Derby, (2)brothers; Dan (Karen) Motola, and Jim (Terry) Motola, (1)brother-in-law; Bob (Pat) Lobash and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Arlene, and sister Laurie Neal. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Glidden, WI. Fr. Aloysius Anthony will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service. Military Honors under the auspices of the Glidden VFW Post and the Park Falls American Legion Post will follow. A visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Modell Funeral Home on 7710 S Cass Ave, in Darien, IL 60561. Interment and Military Service will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.
