Donna H. Steinacker

Donna H. Steinacker Nov. 1, 1936 - Dec. 2, 2014 Donna H. Steinacker, age 78, of Midland Texas, formally of Park Falls, passed away on Dec. 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lugerville, Wisconsin on November 1, 1936, the daughter of Eman and Helen (Yarish) Smetak. Her education began in a one room school house in Lugerville. She moved with her family to Park Falls where she attended Washington Elementary and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1954. She was a hard worker *with a heart of gold. She could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to those in need. She owned and operated Donna's Coffee Cup Cafe from 1969 to 1971. She worked as a nurses aide at Flambeau Medical Center until she moved to Midland, Texas in 1973. She continued working as an aide for several more years at Parkview Hospital in Midland until becoming a Unit Coordinator. She would accept a Unit Coordinator position at Midland Memorial Hospital and work there until she retired in 1999. Donna married Jack Steinacker on Nov. 30, 1992. They spent many happy years together watching the deer play in the fields that surrounded their home, going to garage sales, gambling and fishing. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2014. Donna's biggest passion was her family. She loved like no mother has ever loved. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren always put a smile on her face and she filled them with excitement and love when ever she was around. Donna is survived by her daughters Mona (Dennis) Temby of Midland and Lori Barrett of Abilene, Texas. Sisters, Betty McKnight, Park Falls, Val Kinas, Prentice, Phyllis Barfknecht, Bellevue, WA. Brothers. Gary (Lori) Smetak, Sanford, FL, Terry (Deb) Bourgard of Park Falls, and Randy (Karen) Couey of Rice Lake. Grandchildren, Zack (Christi) Kohn, Amber (Mason) Staggs, Aubrey (Bryan) White, Walter (Libby) Barrett, Jennifer (Casey) Dennison, Heather, Holly, and Heidi Holmes, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving cousin and friend Jeanie. ( Bob) Plachetka. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, her son Jon Holmes, brothers Dick Smetak, Jim Smetak and Dennis Bourgard, grandaughter, Jessica Holmes, great grandson, Joseph Wood and grandson, Jake Temby.
